C-DAC Mohali (Erstwhile CEDTI, Mohali) has been a leading Institute for more than two decades in the field of training. It started functioning in May 1989. Training has been the main source of supply of trained manpower to industry. The major thrust areas of the Centre in training are Medical Electronics, Telecommunication, Animation & Multimedia Technologies, PCB Design & Manufacturing, CADD Engg. , Network Security, Embedded System Design & Entrepreneurship Development Programme which CDAC Mohali has been conducting successfully since its inception.

C-DAC Mohali has positioned itself to offer a large variety of courses from short duration value addition industry oriented training courses to long duration and high end courses; diploma (6 months) and M.Tech. / M.E. courses of two (2) year duration. It offers variety of course packages for international students as well. It has the strength to offer customized/ tailor made courses as per user requirements. Courses conducted for WHO, HCL, Postal Department and Punjab Govt. Departments are worth mentioning. During 2009-10, 118 courses were conducted and about 2500 students trained. Since 1989, more than 30000 Students are trained through these programs. It had created a brand name for itself in the domain of IT related Training.

C-DAC Mohali was the first amongst all other Centres to be awarded ISO Certification for excellence in training.

The various job oriented training programs conducted by the Centre for Indian Students are as given in the Training Calendar. Seats remain limited in all the Training Courses and admissions to these courses are on first come first served basis.

The Institute offers Post graduate programmes leading to M.Tech degrees.
