M.Tech. Courses
M.Tech regular classes for VLSI/EPDT/ES will be starting from 06-08-2012.
Timetable for all the courses will be available in notice board of the department.
The objective of the ACS Division at C-DAC Mohali is to provide knowledge based and practice oriented Postgraduate Programmes. To address the growing demand for high quality trained manpower in the area of Electronics, ACS Division offers two-year full-time postgraduate program in electronics with areas of specializations namely M.E. (Electronics Product Design & Technology) and M. Tech (VLSI Design) which has started in 1994 and 2004 respectively. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, a lot of stress is laid on hands-on training and overall, development of the individual's personality.
All the four programs are well-designed and are conducted on semester basis. The objective is to build a strong foundation and develop the required skill set in students associated with the Electronics and Information Technology. The programme incorporates regular assignments and high quality thesis work. All laboratories are well equipped with adequate number of Industry standard Design Tools supported with FPGA, DSP and Microcontroller development boards. The laboratory facilities are available for 24 hours and 7 days a week to provide a stimulating and high-end learning experience.
The program is conducted and monitored by highly qualified faculty with sole aim to produce the highest quality Industry ready manpower equipped to take up challenging assignments in Research and Industry in the areas of VLSI Design, Electronic Product Design, Embedded Systems and Information Technology.
ACS Division is also offering Diploma in Embedded System Division (DESD)
Admissions to the M.Tech. program are normally based on Merit of average marks of 8 semesters in the B.Tech or B.E. degree. The procedure for admission in this course is given below:

- Candidates have to apply online.
- Counselling fee will be paid through Challan at bank counters mentioned by university.
- Counselling schedule will be announced by Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
- Candidates will attend the counselling based on merit.
- Candidates will be sent to the allotted colleges and will get one week time for fee deposition at C-DAC, Mohali.
- Vacant seats will be filled by colleges by its own merit criteria.
Financial Assistance/Scholarships
GATE qualified candidates will get scholarships, subject to availability of grant from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Candidates admitted to the M.Tech. program after qualifying GATE with valid gate score in relevant branch could be offered the Teaching Assistantship (TA) or Research Assistantship provided they have secured at least 60 percent marks in their qualifying degree examination. A teaching assistant can be asked to conduct labs, help an instructor in grading, and other course-related tasks. Currently the assistantship amount is Rs. 8000 per month.

Supports simulation, debugging, code development in assembly & C for 218x series of 16 bit DSP Processors by Analog Devices fully supporting EZ-KIT LITE Development Board with onboard ADSP2181-Codec interface.
- ARM Compiler, debugger &Assembler with kits Samsung Evaluator-7T kit with Code Warrior IDE software & debugger fully supports development and testing of ARM7TDMI core based embedded applications.
- AVR Compiler, Debugger & Assembler with kits, AVR Studio 4 IDE software along with STK500 Development Board provides complete support for writing, debugging AVR applications & development and testing of new designs for various AT mega, ATtiny & AT90s series of Atmel microcontrollers.

Library
The Library has a collection of over 12000 publications which include books, bound volumes of journals, thesis/dissertations, rare books, reports, government documents. The Library has subscription of 47 periodicals/journals. The books are issued to the students for the maximum for 15 days except reference book, Data books, Directories, Hand books, Reports, Standards. The books, which are not available in the library, are procured on the request of members. The reprographic facility is available for all members and students. IEEE and ACM online access of Journals and Conference Proceeding are also available inside the institute. There is a provision of separate reading carrels for the faculty.
CDAC provides a strong base for placement and industrial training requirement of the program. The students are assigned the projects on full time basis as per course requirement, in their 4th semester. Further the work culture of the organization provides a good environment to students to interact and get first hand information for working on live projects during their class room teaching too.
