To deposit or to withdraw a specific amount of money, people visit the nearest bank branch and do the needful. Even if there is a long queue, they still wait in the line with patience to withdraw or deposit money.Â
For the first-timers, they have no clue how to deposit or withdraw an amount in the bank. The first step to deposit or withdraw an amount in the bank is filling the slip provided by the bank. For depositing an amount, you have to fill out the deposit slip. Similarly, to withdraw an amount, you should fill out the withdrawal slip of the bank.Â

Steps to fill SBI deposit slip
The procedure is really simple. Follow the steps given below:
Go to the nearest SBI bank branch and get the deposit slip from one of the bank officials. The slip contains info both front and back. So, you should fill both sides. This is how the front side of the deposit slip looks.
Here is the backside of the deposit slip.
The slip has 3 sections: The left section of the front side, the right section of the front side and the backside.Â
First, let us see how to fill the slip’s left section of the front side
- STEP 1 – Write the SBI branch name. Here, you have to enter the name of the branch from where you are depositing the money.
- STEP 2 – Next, fill in the deposit date and year. Write them separately.Â
- STEP 3 – Write down the bank account number in which you are going to deposit the amount. Squares are used to separate the account number. In each square, write one number. In this way, fill the account number correctly. Make sure you don’t make any errors.
- STEP 4 – Once you have filled the account number, write down the name of the account holder.
- STEP 5 – Below the account holder’s name, write the amount you are going to deposit in words.
- STEP 6 – Now, enter the deposit amount in numeric form.
- STEP 7 – Write the sum of the total amount in numbers.
- STEP 8 – Next, the person who deposits the amount (depositor) should sign the box.
- STEP 9 – Enter your mobile number in the next section. The mobile number can be filled in just like how you filled the account number. Enter each number in separate squares.
- STEP 10 – Next, you should write your PAN card number. If you are going to deposit less than Rs 50,000, then you do not have to write the PAN card number. PAN info is required only if the deposit amount is more than Rs 50,000.

- STEP 1 – You should enter the name of the bank branch first, just like how you did before.Â
- STEP 2 – Next, mark the type of your bank account.
- STEP 3 – Next, below the account type, enter the bank account number in which you are going to deposit the amount. This is the account number of the person who is going to receive the money. You can follow the same step as followed before to fill in the account number.
- STEP 4 – Next, enter the name of the account holder.
- STEP 5 – In numeric form, enter the amount you are going to deposit. Below this, enter the total amount sum in numbers.
- STEP 6 – Lastly, write down the deposit amount in words. (Example: If you are going to deposit Rs 3,000, write ‘Three Thousand Only’.)
You have completed the front side of the deposit slip.Â
NEXT, let us see how to fill the backside of the deposit slip
The backside of the deposit slip must be filled with utmost attention and concentration. In the Pieces Column, enter the number of rupee notes. Write this in front of the amount already registered in the Denomination Column.Â
The total of the rupee notes amount x Number of notes should be filled in the Rs. Column. Let’s say if you have 2 rupee notes of Rs. 2000, you should fill 4 in the piece column & total of the notes 4000 in the Rs. Column). We hope you understood how this works! Now, follow the below steps:
- STEP 1 – Fill in the backside of the deposit slip.
- STEP 2 – In the bottom area, you have to Sign the Deposit slip.
After filling the slip, submit it to the bank official who is responsible. The bank official will verify the slip and process it. Once the deposit slip is verified, the bank official will stamp both sides of the slip. The left side of the slip will be handed over to you as proof. The bank will take about 2 hours to deposit the amount in the recipient’s bank account.
Steps to fill SBI withdrawal form/slip
Just like the deposit slip, the SBI withdrawal slip can also be filled out easily. Follow the below instructions:
- STEP 1 – Firstly, you should fill in your full name in the given field. The name should be the same as how it is in your bank passbook.
- STEP 2 – Next, write down the name of your SBI Bank branch. This is the bank branch in which you opened your bank account.Â
- STEP 3 – Then, write the date of withdrawal in the given format – dd/mm/yyyy.
- STEP 4 – Write down the bank account number. Fill 1 number in every square, just like how you did in the deposit slip.
- STEP 5 – Now, enter the total withdrawal amount in numeric form.
- STEP 6 – Enter the total withdrawal amount in words/text. (If the amount is Rs 4000, write ‘Four Thousand Only’)
- STEP 7 – Now, enter your registered mobile number.
- STEP 8 – Lastly, sign the slip.
- STEP 9 – Now, submit the withdrawal slip to the bank executive.Â
The bank will check and verify your slip, before processing it. Once verified, you can withdraw the amount you want from your bank account.Â
