The American science fiction horror streaming television series is the brainchild of the Duffer Brothers and is the most popular show that people worldwide are fawning upon right now. Stranger Things is the story of five kids, one with unusual telekinesis powers, who work together for the greater good of the world.

Slashing monsters, discovering portals to other dimensions and action-packed sequences make up the majority of the series. The series is characterized by a small set of episodes with no filler content whatsoever – it’s quick, short, and well, nail-biting.

So if you haven’t watched this epic series yet, now’s the perfect time to binge it. As there are hardly three seasons and 25 episodes released as of yet, it’ll be pretty easy to catch up before season four is out sometime next year too!

Henceforth, we’ve prepared a detailed index of Stranger Things to help you follow up for the same. And if you’ve already watched it all, a few re-watch sessions before the new season is out is always a good idea. Check it out!

The season opens with a mysterious note which sets the tone for the rest of the season. The pilot episode shows a scientist working in a lab in Hawkins, who gets attacked by a mysterious creature. The same creature attacks Will Byers when he was on his way home on his bike – resulting in his suspicious disappearance. And that’s the question around which the whole season revolves – What happened to Will Byers?

It was a fine day when Will and his pals Mike, Dustin, and Lucas were playing a game of Dungeons and Dragons, post which Will hops onto his bike to go home. He and the creature cross paths on the street and Will Byers is now thin air – nowhere to be found.

Just after the day that marks the disappearance of Will Byers was when Eleven appeared, a young lass with a shaved head with little to no liking for conversations. She breaks into a diner in her hospital gown to steal food. The owner of the diner, called Benny, pities her condition; and instead of shunning her away offers her some food and strikes a conversation. A few minutes in and he learns that her name was Eleven, courtesy to the tattooed name on her arm.

Suddenly, a young woman claiming herself to be a social worker breaks into the diner and kills Benny on the spot, with her troop of armed men scourging the premises. In the chaos of it all, Eleven manages to escape.

In the midst of it all, Will’s mom Joyce claims that her son wanted to establish communication with her by calling her over the phone. She thus starts communicating with Will through the various electronic devices in her home.

The trio who last saw Will go out on a hunt to track Will down, but instead find Eleven and bring her home. They hide her in Mike’s basement, and given Eleven’s dislike for striking or holding conversations, she just reveals the fact that “bad people” are searching for her. When Mile starts to suspect Eleven, trying to go to his parents to reveal her whereabouts, Eleven uses her telekinesis powers to shut the door to bar Mike from doing so.

We later learn that Eleven’s father was the director of the Hawkin’s lab, and she was locked up to work on her telekinesis powers. She established contact with Will with the help of a walkie-talkie, which she takes with her to Mike and Lucas’ school to utilize it better. The boys come to the conclusion that Will is alive, but trapped in an alternate dimension which they call “The Upside Down’, and identify the mysterious creature as the Demogorgon.

Meanwhile, Mike’s elder teenage sister Nancy’s friend Barb disappears the same way Will did at a party. In the end, the kids along with Nancy and Jonathan set up a trap for the Demogorgon. The monster appears in school and comes for them, but Eleven manages to use her powers to destroy it. However, in doing so, she vanishes herself.

The season ends with Will coughing up a slug-like creature and getting visions of the Upside Down and the Sheriff leaving a box of food for Eleven in the woods – which could mean that Eleven is alive.

The last season witnessed Eleven putting an end to the portal that connected the Erth and the Upside Down, created by her second home – the Hawkins Lab. This also meant that the creepy monsters who were always on the lookout to abduct more humans posing a threat to their lives were also locked up for good, and forever.

However, the last episode showed the Mind Flayer hovering above the school premises, indicating that maybe, just maybe – it isn’t eradicated completely.

Will came back to Earth and got rid of the monster possessing him, which was further helped by his mother Joyce’s weird, out-of-the-world idea to keep him amidst space heaters, wrapped in a snug blanket. Will came out a tad dehydrated, but alright for the most part.

We eventually learn that every human that vanishes into thin air and finds themselves in Upside Down can be infected by the Mind Flayer, or rather possessed – so as to carry out his tasks on Earth.

The whole reason why the monsters of the Upside Down were so hungry for human flesh in the first place was that they acted as substitutes who would carry out their bidding on the planet of the living. Which was one of the prime reasons how Will unintentionally (and well, unconsciously too) tricked the troop of soldiers into the trap in the previous season.

However, Will was successfully able to establish communication with his friends and family using Morse Code to help them help him break free from the clutches of the vicious monster.

With the joint efforts of Nancy, Jonathan, and Murray Bauman, the Hawkins Lab and the dangerous ongoing experiments were shut down for once and for all. The director of the lab, Dr. Owens comes off as a character garnering mixed attention from the audience – as in both positive and negative.

So it’s tough to rule him out as the good or the bad guy. While most of the activities he gave authorization too such as the heinous experiments were bad, he did help Hopper become the legal guardian of Eleven which was a really kind thing to do. Whether to like him or not, we would say is entirely up to you.

The second season also sees romances blossoming, such as the soft dance shared by Eleven and Mike at Hawkins Middle Snow Ball, and Max and Lucas finally hitting off a little thing with each other. They made their secret feelings official at the ball, becoming exclusive as a full-fledged couple. However, Max and Lucas hitting off together also barred Dustin from expressing his feelings for Max. Joyce’s boyfriend Bob falls victim to a Demogorgon, while Nancy and Jonathan rekindle their romance after a complicated love triangle takes place.

Also, not to forget, Eleven’s vicious sister Kali’s illusion casting abilities were brought to light in many action sequences with the Pennsylvania Police. And it is quite possible that this isn’t it, and Dr. Brenner has more subjects of his out there in the world – each having special powers of their own.

Even though Eleven’s mother Terry helped her locate Kali, there was less to expect out of her regarding the revelation of further info, given that she was in a semi-vegetative state chanting the same phrase over and over again.

The Mindflayer was gone in the previous season, but what’s a good show without a heinous villain, right? Turns out the Mind Flayer was back with a bang in season three, only different and made up of altogether different elements this time. And it owed its re-inception to a few Russians who couldn’t limit their business just to themselves.

No sooner did the Starcourt mall open than mysterious, frequent deaths started occurring coupled with weird, eerie happenings. Steve started to work at an ice-cream shop and soon cease quite close friends with his co-worker Robin.

Dustin was back from the science camp, and Erica Sinclair would always be found at the ice-cream shop trying to hog on another dollop. These four started to grow close and uncovered the secret truth of the Starcourt Mall.

Turns out that Starcourt Mall was facilitating the secret operations of a Russian laboratory in its basement, away from the public eye – something that conducted experiments of similar sorts as that of Upside Down.

Meanwhile, Nancy and Jonathan were interning with The Hawkins Post where they were given (well, so they presumed) weird topics to write on – such as the awry behavior of the town’s rats. Later, it turns out that Nancy’s boss and his family were among the few firsts who fell victim to the monster.

There were also some tensions rising between the couples that were formed last season, who went onto becoming quite exclusive with their own set of drama. Mike and Eleven struggle with Jim Hopper trying to meddle in their relationship, however, it was the same person who proved to be pivotal in helping the kids realize that the Mindflayer was back. Eleven then closed the gate for good.

It was Joyce who first got the sniff of something fishy when her magnets stopped working. Even though she resolved to stay away from the Hawkins Lab and start afresh, it didn’t quite pan that way out much.

She and Jim uncovered an even bigger conspiracy of the Russians and Hawkins’ mayor’s efforts to fructify similar experiments that they witnessed in Upside Down. In the end, Jim died – which quite obviously implied that Elevn and Byers’ were gone for good.

However, the after-credits scene showed that he might be alive – so here’’s top hoping for the best.
